Stand By Me

I won’t be afraid, no I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me.

Life placed me into a delicate situation one summer day as I watched a young boy being mistreated. Without thinking, I found my body walking toward the child very gently.  It was not my place to say anything to the parent, so I just stood beside the child, who was on the verge of tears, and did my best to eminate a sense of gaurdianship, spiritual love and caring, as well as being a compassionate witness to his pain.

Within moments he began to relax, perk up and play again with a ball he had been gripping tightly. Just standing by his side; just having one person acknowledge him and care, was all he needed to feel stronger in that situation. No words were said, but he understood my gesture and he appeared invincible for the rest of the afternoon.

When we stand together we become stronger. When we know someone cares, we relax. When we let someone know we are there for them, we can mend a broken heart and prevent a shattered soul.

As we transition into a New Year, make the committment to stand by your own inner child with loving care; to be a strong pillar for others, and to bond in unity with friends, family and humanity more powerfully than ever before.

Please stand with me and hold the intention for the world to unite with greater love, peace and truth in 2018.
