Tesla, Merlin and Puff The Magic Dragon

Elon Musk is a Canadian / American entrepreneur, engineer, inventor and investor; CEO and CTO of SpaceX, CEO product architect of Tesla Motors, chairman of SolarCity and a cofounder of PayPal. He has also envisioned a conceptual high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop and has proposed a VTOL supersonic jet aircraft with electric fan propulsion.
Musk assumed leadership of Tesla Motors in 2008 and acts as CEO and product architect, allowing Tesla technology patents to be used by anyone in good faith in a bid to entice automobile manufacturers to speed up development of electric cars and save the planet as quickly as possible.
His company, SolarCity is the second largest solar power provider system in the United States, however, he is, as of this writing, building a facility in Buffalo, New York that will prove to be one of the single largest solar panel production plants in the world.
His values and commitment to making the planet greener, friendlier and happier contribute to why we use and trust Paypal on our site.
His company SpaceX has a proposed goal of creating a “true spacefaring civilization,” to free us from the confines of earth if any ‘not so happy’ situation should occur, such as a comet or a replay of the movie Ishtar…actually I liked that movie. Another thing I appreciate about this guy is that he named one of his rockets, Dragon, after Puff the Magic Dragon, and two other rockets, the Falcon 1 and Falcon 9,  after the Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Not only that, he named his rocket engine Merlin 1D. I think that’s super cool.
Influenced by Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series, Musk views space exploration as an important step in expanding, if not preserving, the consciousness of human life. He is currently working on a Mars colony that will house 80,000 by 2040.
In 2013 Musk unveiled a new form of transportation which he envisioned with his company Hyperloop, a hypothetical subsonic air travel machine that would theoretically allow commuters to travel between cities more quickly than a commercial airplane can currently provide.
It is always nice to know about people who are making the planet a better place in every possible way they can. Thank you! I applaud people who care and share. And special thanks once again to Harrigan Logan for bringing this to my attention!
